NOTE: I know some of you that are reading this may have different beliefs than me and such and I just wanted to let you know that I don't think any of you are crazy or stupid and I'm definately not trying to offend. This is kind of one of those blogs where if the shoe fits, wear it.
So last night I stayed up really late simply because I couldn't sleep and I just felt really wide awake. I ended up going to my bed at around 2:45 AM and I felt stupid about that because I don't like staying up late sometimes, because I've always been counseled not to for health reasons, plus I didn't want my parents to walk in and get mad at me :/.
So right as I was going to bed, I kneeled down and said my usual nighttime prayer, but this time it was different. Maybe I was just delirious or something, but I didn't feel like saying the same old usual stuff. I decided to have a real conversation with Him. I talked to Him like I talk to my best friends. I told Him pretty much everything that was on my mind. I asked Him for help with things I struggle with. I thanked Him for things I really appreciated in my life at the moment. And I just simply talked. I had never felt more close with God in my life! I felt the Spirit and everything and I also knew that He was my ultimate and very best friend.
I talked with Him for about an hour (which is probably the longest prayer I've said) and the next morning (today) I woke up at 11:00 AM with a cough (which I hate), but strangely enough, I felt positive. Things feel absolutely great today and nothing special has even happened yet! It's AMAZING!
I encourage all of you if can (or simply choose) to have a conversation with God. It sounds kind of silly at first because you can't see or hear Him so you don't know what He'll say back, but I promise it will bring you closer to His presence :D.

Will Ferrell on "The Office": My Thoughts
I am a DIE-HARD fan of the NBC comedy The Office. I had heard of the show before and everyone made it seem pretty funny, but I didn't get into it until about 2 years ago when I had my wisdom teeth pulled out and all I could do was lay around. We just barely got Netflix at the time and I saw that all of the seasons of The Office were on instant play and I decided to watch and ever since then, I got hooked up until I caught up with the currently airing episodes. Now I've seen every single one to this day.
Because I am a fan of the show, I like to read about the actors and what will happen in the future episodes.
When the current season started (Season 7), I read a bunch information about what will be coming to the show and I discovered something very shocking: According to Steve Carell's (who plays Michael Scott) contract, season 7 was listed as his last season and he decided to NOT renew his contract, so after this season, he will NOT be returning to the show (however, the producers said that Carell is totally welcome to guest-appear in future episodes if he wishes)! When I read this, I was like, "WHAAAAAAAAAAAT?! WHYYYY????!!!!" Michael Scott is pretty much the main character!!! He MAKES the show what it is! I couldn't believe Steve Carell was willing to give it up!
To this day, I highly doubt the show will be the same. I'm still gonna watch it, but MAN!!! I'm gonna miss "The World's Best Boss" WAY too much!!!
So now some of you may ask, Is there someone replacing him? The answer is possibly.
In the most recent episode, Garage Sale, that premiered on March 24, 2011, Michael proposes to Holly Flax, the woman he's been in love with since Season 5. And in the show, after proposing to her, he decides to move to Colorado with Holly so she can take care of her dad (thus making an excuse for Carell's character to leave the show). And according to commercials and stuff I read, the famous comedic actor many of us love, Will Ferrell, will be guest-starring as the temoporary regional manager covering for Michael. Steve Carell's last episodes and Will Ferrell's first episodes will premire on April 21 and April 28 in Goodbye Michael: Part 1 and Part 2. After those episodes, the season won't be quite finished, but Carell will be gone anyway and Ferrell will stay the rest of the season and possibly be a permanent character!
When I found out all of this, I was again shocked! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Will Ferrell and I think he's hilarious and stuff, but I just can't picture him being on The Office! It's way too weird and I may have a hard time getting used to it! In my opinion, the show TOTALLY belonged to Steve Carell and without him, the show simply won't be the same. And I believe I totally have a point by saying this since I am a die-hard fan of both The Office and Will Ferrell.
This reminds me of Blue's Clues, that old show many of us watched as kids. Blue's owner, Steve, pretty much made the show come alive in a sense, and then when his character went to "college", he was replaced by his "brother", Joe. And ever since that change, the show was simply not the same. Joe was more annoying and didn't have quite the same charm that Steve brought to the show. And I think many of us would agree!
Ironic that in both situations the person leaving the show was named Steve :P
Anyway, I know I could go on forever about this subject, but I know none of you people have all day to read my blabber, so I'm gonna end this by saying, I hope Will Ferrell will somehow be able to change my mind!

Living in the Present
Those of you who know me pretty well know that my life has almost dramatically changed within the last few months. I graduated high school last May and at first, it didn't seem like my life was really any different. I kept in contact with and saw many of the same people I went to high school with for much of the summer.
But then as the new school year started, I decided to skip this semester and just go to the next one....I've regretted it ever since. I spent too much time at home and I was unemployed. I rarely saw my buddies from high school and even when I did, I didn't really feel the same just because the kids still in high school were too into each other and same with the kids going to college. I was in neither. So I felt pretty alone.
Months passed by, and I got my first job at Target. That was a brief, but VERY exciting time in my life! I knew what it was like to be excited about making your own money and not feeling like a free-loader. I noticed that everytime I was really busy, my thoughts of the outside world COMPLETELY disappared! Anything I was upset about never crossed my mind! It was amazing! And also from that experience, I made a new friend that ended up becoming special and very close to my heart. He is now my everything and we've been keeping it strong for almost 4 months now. And being with him, I don't see all my friends that often and sometimes I miss the good old times we had, but I'm grateful for moving on because my life has changed in SO many good ways that my other friends couldn't have done.
I bring all of that up because, now, I'm starting to make very big life-changing decisions because of all of that. I want to go to school, be married someday, and learn to be more independent. And I admit that it's scary, because I'm still young and I want to make sure I'm doing the right things so I don't feeli like I screwed up. That is probably my biggest fear. And sometimes I concentrate too much on how my future should be and it makes me feel confused and insecure. But lately I've been told many times to not worry so much about the future. Instead, I need to live day by day, almost as if there isn't a future, 'cause deep down, what really matters is what you do to today rather than what you did yesterday or you're going to. Today determines the person you really are. So if any of you also struggle with this, I advice you to relax and enjoy the happiness of each day that comes :D
Oh and one last thing! This is song that probably everyone knows, but I feel like it TOTALLY relates to what I just said. Enjoy!

New Favorite Album
So I've always "liked" Ne-Yo and I had 2 songs from this album before ("Closer" and "Mad"). But a couple weeks ago when me and my boyfriend Travis were scrapbooking, he decided to turn on this album, Year Of The Gentleman and WOW! I hardly ever like EVERY SINGLE song in an album!! I LOVE it!!! And recently I downloaded the rest of the songs I didn't have and now I've been listening to them ever since :D Ne-Yo is the BEST!!
New Blog 2011
Hey everyone! I joined this thing about 2 years ago when my brother Scott left on his mission (he comes home in May btw!) and I had a few posts and all and recently I tried to log back into it because some of my friends are getting blogs and they wanted me to follow them. But unfortunately the email for my old blog (one I don't use anymore anyway) has been HACKED! And now it's impossible to fix it and I have no way to update my old blog :/ so I made this blog to continue and also start over. Fortunately though I have the URL to my old blog in case anyone's interested in my 17-year-old self: haleyowh.blogspot.com. But if not, you can enjoy my brand new blog I plan to update A LOT more than the other one! :D
